Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide favorable negative pressure characteristic of a carburetor having a multi-Venturi system, by setting the diffuser divergent angle of a small Venturi which discharges fuel at a specific level and attaching to the venturi a member for producing turbulent flows.
CONSTITUTION: A carburetor is equipped with a large Venturi 10 and small Venturi 12, the latter equipped with a main nozzle 14 having its diffuser divergent angle θ set at below 10°, for example, 8°. A plate-formed bridge 20 with a rectangular section is set right above the main nozzle 14 in the small Venturi 12 as a member for locally producing turbulent suction flows at the fuel discharge only. The carburetor with this small Venturi 12 is very efficient, that is, characteristic in reduced suction loss despite its flat air fuel ratio and high suction pressure.
