Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the titled compsn. having excellent peeling strength, by mixing a specified ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer with an epoxy resin, and adding a hardener to the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: 60W95wt% ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of 6W87% and an MI of 3W400/min. and 40W5pts.wt. epoxy resin are mixed together and uniformly dispersed in each other at 100W200°C. The resulting mixture is quenched to make it nonfluid. While the mixture is kneaded by rubber roll kept at a temperature as low as possible, a hardener (e.g. dicyandiamide) is added and uniformly dispersed in the mixture. Then the resulting mixture is shaped to a sheet.
EFFECT: There can be obtd. a compsn. which is most suitable as a heat-reactive adhesive, and has rubbery elasticity and excellent peeling strength when heat- bonded.
