Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a mechanically rigid superconductive rotor having excellent electromagnetic performance by providing an inner conductive layer inside the ordinary temperature damper. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical inner conductive layer 17 made of good conductive material is provided inside an ordinary temperature damper 4. The conductive material includes copper, aluminum, and their alloys. The damper 4 and the layer 17 are bonded by shrinkage fitting, adhering, etc. In this manner, the layer 17 electromagnetically shields high harmonic magnetic field caused from the stator side via eddy current induced in the layer and prevents the adverse influence to a superconductive field coil 3. Since the layer 17 is provided inside the damper 4, the centrifugal force acting on the layer 17 is transmitted to the damper 4 and is thus supported, and is accordingly mechanically rigid for the centrifugal force.
