Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A dibenzoxazepin derivative of formula I (R1 is H, 1W2 halogens, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy; R2 is H or lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 8-Ethoxycarbonyldibenzo[b,f][1,4]oxazepin-11(10H)one.
USE: It has antilipemic activity, antiulcer activity, and PGI2-production promoting activity, and is useful as a medicine.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by the thermal cyclization of diphenyl ether of formula II (R3 and R4 are lower alkyl) without using a solvent or in a solvent such as toluene, xylene, etc. pref. at 100W200°C, followed by hydrolysis of the prodct if necessary.
