Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a smooth flow of a pallet at a delivering part in a pallet transporting device in a machining system for use in controlling a group of machine tools by a method wherein a chain conveyor arranged at a conveyor delivering part is reciprocatebly moved along a pallet transporting direction.
CONSTITUTION: Branch station 33 for use in changing a moving direction of the pallet at a right angle is formed at the first and second transporting conveyors 27, 20. Further, at the station 33 is arranged a pallet transporting chain conveyor 62 placed in a fixed frame for the conveyor 27 such that it may be crossed with the conveyor 20 at a point where the conveyor 27 is projected. The chain of the conveyor 62 is pushed down through an idler sprocket mounted at a lifter 63 buried below the conveyor 20. Thereby, it is possible to provide a smooth transporting of a pallet from the conveyor 27 to the conveyor 20, and at the same time the pallet can be escaped onto the conveyor 20 and then sent back again onto the conveyor 27.
