Abstract

PURPOSE:To have the same ordr of pages for discharge regardless of single- surface copying or double-surface copying, by setting surface inverting and carrying path switching devices of paper between an image transferring part and a discharging part. CONSTITUTION:In the case of single-surface copying, the paper fed from a paper feed tray 8 receives the transfer of the surface image of a photosensiive drum 10 and is stacked on a discharge tray 20 for single-surface copy via a fixing part 18. While in the case of double-surface copying, an image is transferred on the upper surface of the paper. Then the paper sent from the part 18 is inverted by carrying path switching devices 19, 12 and 13. Thus the surface containing the image is put downward to be fed into an inverting tray 14. When the rear end of the paper passes through the device 13, the carrying direction of the paper is immediately inverted and sent to a carrying loop 17 by the switching devices 13 and 15. Then the image on the drum 10 is transferred on the rear surface of the paper and then fixed to be discharged onto a double- surface copy discharge tray 16 by the switching device 19 and 12. The order of pages to be stacked is equal to that of the single-surface copying time.
