Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable compacting of a testing device, by a method wherein, under a condition to lock an internal combustion engine to a stand located through a rubber vibration isolator, on-load or no-load running is performed. CONSTITUTION:Under a condition that a pivoted vertical plate 4 is fallen sideways, a pallet 10 supporting an internal combustion engine 9 is conveyed above a bottom plate 1A, and is positioned by a knock pin 11. With this, the pivoted vertical plate 4 is caused to stand upright, the rear surface of the internal combustion engine 9 is pressed, and is pressed by means of an elastic substance 8 to completely lock it to a stand 1 side. An elevating device 31 is then lowered to detach the pallet 10 from the internal combustion engine 9. With this, the internal combustion engine 9 starts to run, a no-load running test is firstly performed, and if a clutch 16 is brought to an engagement, the rotary force of the internal cimbustion engine 9 is transferred to a power absorbing device 20 to perform on-load running test. In the case of said running test, the vibration of the internal combustion engine 9 can be absorbed by a rubber vibration isolator 2.
