Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical inclinmeter which is explosion-proof and free from the effect of electromagnetic induction or the like, by providing the main body of the meter with an intercepting plate fitted and suspended down rotatably at the upper end, and with a pair of opposed optical fibers on both sides of the rotation plane of the intercepting plate. CONSTITUTION:The main body 3 of a meter is constituted by a rack 1 and a supporting frame 2, and an intercepting plate 5 is provided in such a manner that its upper end is supported rotatably by the pin 6 of the bracket 4 of the supporting frame 2. Lights are emitted from a pair of optical fibers 7, and when the inclination of the plate exceeds a set value theta, a light falling on either of optical fibers 8 is intercepted by the intercepting plate 5 and thereby the inclination exceeding the set value theta is detected. Since optical signals are emitted and received by using the optical fibers 7 and 8, the meter is explosion-proof and free from the effect of electromagnetic induction.
