Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a cam shaft of a desired shape by one process, by storing a material pipe in a die mold on which a recessed groove of a desired shape has been cut-provided, pressing a pipe body by a fluid, and performing its bulge-working. CONSTITUTION:A choke plug 2 is inserted-struck to both ends of a material pipe 1, a through-hole 3 is pierce-provided on the right choke plug 2, and a lead- in pipe 4 of a high pressurized fluid is fitted in. On the other surface of an upper mold 6 and the upper surface of a lower mold 7 of a die mold 5, a semi-cylindrical part 8 and recessed grooves 9, 10 of a desired shape corresponding to the outside diameter of a cam or a bearing are cut-provided. Bulge working is performed by making this die mold 5 hold the material pipe 1, heating the material pipe 1 by a suitable means, and also pressing the working oil led into the lead-in pipe 4. As a result, the diameter of the part which does not contact with the semi-cylindrical part 8 of the upper and lower molds 6, 7, in the material pipe 1 is expanded, and it is made to press-contact with the inside surfaces of the recessed grooves 9, 10, and a cam 11 and a bearing 12 are molded.
