Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve thermal efficiency of an engine, by separating the compressor from the expansion machine, developing the cycle in which compressed new gas is exploded in the reciprocating type expansion machine ad utilizing a rotary compressor and an exhaust gas turbine by connecting them to a crankshaft.
CONSTITUTION: A high pressure expansion machine 1, a high pressure compressor 2, a multistages Roots compressor 3 and a partial inflow exhaust gas turbine 4 are connected to each other by the crankshaft 9 of the expansion machine 1 and the crankshaft 16 of the compressor 3. The expansion machine 1 sucks new gas through a suction valve 11, ignites and explodes the gas with an ignition plug at the top dead point, exhausts high pressure exhaust gas through an exhaust valve and sends the exhaust gas to the exhaust gas turbine 4, where the mechaism is constituted so that the time of the suction valve 11 does not overlap the time of the exhaust valve 10. By thus constituting a complex engine, remarkably high thermal efficiency is secured.
