Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled tablet advantageously, by granulating the sodium dichloroisocyanurate in the wet chemically unstable state by the screen extruding granulation under a slight molding pressure, granulating the resultant granules in the form of fine noodles by rolls, and tableting the formed granules under a high pressure with a chemically stable moisture content in a dense granular state.
CONSTITUTION: Wet sodium dichloroisocyanurate is extruded through a screen having many small holes to form granules in the state of fine noodles, which are then dried in a fluidized bed dryer 3, preferably with humidified hot air to give a moisture content of 7W11wt%. The dried granules are nipped between rotating rolls 5 and granulated to give granules having a bulk specific gravity ≥0.8g/ cm3. The resultant granules are then tableted in a tablet machine 8 to afford the titled tablets, useful for sterilizing and disinfecting the pool water, etc. as a solid chlorine agent, and having the flame resistance by the smooth and safe granulating operation in a good working atmosphere. The tablet will not form free water even at a high temperature, and further the caking phenomenon of mutual tablets with a slight loss of the active chlorine during the storage thereof.
