Abstract
PURPOSE: A sulfide fluorescent substance, consisting of a ternary fluorescent substance expressed by a specific formula, and capable of adjusting an emission spectrum obtained from an alkaline earth metallic unary compound fluorescent in a wide wavelength range without greatly deteriorating the emission efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance prepared by adding preferably 15mol% or less SrS to a sulfide fluorescent substance expressed by the formula CaxMgyBazS:A[A is lanthanoid element, Cu, Ag, Au, etc.; x, y and z are as follows: 0<x<1; 0≤y<1; 0<z<0.3; (preferably 0.05≤x; y≤0.95; 0.05≤z≤0.30), x+y+z=1, 0<y<1 when A contains no lanthanoid element], and further adding a halogne element, an alkali metallic element, a nitrogen halide, etc. as a co-activator thereto.
USE: Fluorescent substances for color display apparatuses.
