Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A fuorane derivative that has a darylamine group in the 2-position and an amino group in the 6-position respectively. EXAMPLE:2-Diphenylamino-6diethylaminofluorane. USE:A color developer for a recording material such as pressure-sensitive copying or heat-sensitive copying paper. It contacts with an electorn acceptor to develop a color of blackish green to black. PREPARATION:For example, a mixture of 2-anilino-6-diethylaminofluorane, iodobenzene and a copper powder are heated under stirring at 230 deg.C for 3hr. After cooled by standing, the reaction mixture is combined with toluene and decoloring carbon to effect decoloration. Then, the toluene and excessive iodobenzene are distilled off under reduced pressure and the residue is subjected to silica-gel column purification to give the compound of the example.
