Abstract

PURPOSE:To equalize an illuminance distribution, by providing a reflection means for illuminating a band area by means of reflection of a light beam attaining to the outside of the band area from a reflector and a light source. CONSTITUTION:The surface of paper is illuminated by a lighting means which is constituted of an illumination part consisting of pipelike reflectors 91, 92 having a reflection surface which is much shorter than length of a band area extending over the width WP of the surface of paper to be illuminated, and light sources 93, 94 having a luminous body which is much shorter than length of the reflection surface of said pipelike reflectors 91, 92, and reflection parts 95, 96 for returning a part of a light beam which has attained to the outside of the band area from said illumination part, to the bandlike area.
