Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate satisfactorily the oxygen contained in the water, by spraying the water to be treated which is heated up to a temperature higher than the boiling point to partially evaporate the water and at the same time having a contact between the water and an inactive gas containing a specific amount of carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION:The water which is used for production of the beer, the juice, etc. is heated up to a temperature higher than the boiling point and then sprayed over a device to be partially evaporated. At the same time, an inactive gas like the nirogen gas, etc. that contains >=50% carbon dioxide gas or carbon dioxide is sprayed under the device. Thus the evaporated water has a contact against the inactive gas. The heating temperature of the water is usually set at about 101-103 deg.C. In such way, the oxygen contained in the water to be treated can be satisfactorily eliminated. In addition, the calcium hydrogencarbonate dissolved into the water at a high temperature is prevented from being converted into the calcium carbonate. Thus the stiking of the scale can be prevented.
