Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost multifocus organic lens which is easy to produce and is superior in optical characteristics, by diffusing and polymerizing organic matters different in refractive index in either of the part for far and the part for near of a multifocus organic lens base material having a uniform refractive index. CONSTITUTION:A lens (base material) where the front is a spherical surface is polymerized by organic matters having a low refractive index. When a part 7 for far other than a part 8 for near of the lens is masked before the completion of polymerization and the lens is brought into contact with organic materials having a high refractive index to continue polymerization, organic materials having a high refractive index are diffused from the surface of the part 8 for near and are polymerized. As the result, a part A has a low refractive index, and a part C has a refractive index distribution having an inclination. Thus, a low-cost multifocus organic lens is obtained which is easy to produce and is superior in optical characteristics.
