Abstract
PURPOSE: A belt filter is used for filtering hemihydrate gypsum and the filter cloth is washed on both surfaces with a phosphoric acid solution or with water, when the operation is stopped, to prevent the filter from clogging with no problem on waste water disposal and produce high-concentration phosphoric acid as the original purpose.
CONSTITUTION: The slurry containing hemihydrate gypsum and phosphoric acid 82 is separated by filtration with the belt filter 61 and the hemihydrate gypsum cake 83 is treated through the different stage. In the meantime, the phosphoric solution is used as the product 81 and the circulation acid 79 and simultaneously used as a washing solution, too. The filter cloth 62 is washed with the phosphoric acid solution to inhibit the formation of gypsum scales grwoing from nuclei of dihydrate gypsum without danger of reduction in the concentration of the phosphoric acid product and circulation of the solution after washing. In the filter system 61, the belt 62 and the filter bloth 63 separate from each other on the opposite side of the filtration surface and the filter cloth can be washed continuously with trays 64 and 65. The belt 62 is intermittently washed by jetting water from the nozzle 70. When the filtration is stopped, wateris jetted from nozzles 66, 67 to wash both surface of the filter cloth 63.
