Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect a photosensitive drum from damages, by covering the drum with a cover and constituting so as to make a process kit attachable and detachable without exposing in case of exchanging it. CONSTITUTION:When a process kit 14 is detached from a main body C, a front door 16 is first opened and then a cover 17 is drawn out from the inside of the door 16 and is fixed to the prescribed position of the body C. The kit 14 is taken out from the body C onto the cover 17 by pulling a gripped handle 20. The kit 14 is slided and moved on a bent rail part 17a at the top of the cover 17 and is drawn out until its top end abuts to a stopper 17C of the cover 17 side and is fixed to the cover 17 at the abutted position by a fixing lever 25. When the process kit is taken out from the main body, the drum is exactly protected without touching the drum and without any damages.
