Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the distance of a dark subject by providing a lens cap with a light generating member, and effectively utilizing it for photography. CONSTITUTION:An elastic member 3 of rubber, etc., constitute part of the frame part of a lens cap and a switch contact piece 4 is provided on its internal surface. Then, the part of the member 3 is pressed with fingers 6 and 7, and consequently the switch contact piece 4 is made by coming into contact with a contact 5. When the switches 4 and 5 are turned on, a light emitting element 2 generates light. While a lens is covered with the cap invariably, the light generating part does not generate light and for photography of a dark subject, the switches are turned on after the lens cap detached from the lens is placed at the subject position, generating light. Consequently, for photography of any dark subject, the light generation of the lens cap is used for distance measurement, obtaining a focusing state easily.
