Abstract
PURPOSE: A thermoplastic polyester is melt spun into a yarn and the yarn is treated with a finishing oil with an oil applicator set in a specific position and wound up at a super high speed, thus producing the titled fiber of high uniformity and good fiber properties stably through a practical production process without drawing.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate is extruded through a spinneret 1 and the resultant yarn Y is solidified by cooling with the cooling device 2, treated with a finishing oil by means of the oil applicator 3 and wound up with the winder 6 wherein the position of the applicator L is set so that L is longer than the point where the extruded yarn is solidified by cooling and cooled down to room temperature but shorter than 4.26×1010×D1.61/V1.39 in meter where D is the diameter of filament in centrimeter; V is winding-up speed in cm/sec. Then, the yarn is sent through the first and second godet rollers 4, 5, interlacer 7, traverse guide 8 and wound up around the winder 6 at a speed of 5,000m/min.
