Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the detection error of biased amount of ink as well as prevent the fouling of surrounding instruments by using a system in which a biased amount detection electrode is made of a conductive porous material and ink droplets adhered to the electrode face are absorbed into the inside of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:An upper electrode 6 made of a conductive, roughly porous material is connected to an ink recovery tube 8 by a connecting part 7 made of a porous or fibrous material having a higher density than that of the upper electrode 6. When ink droplets are adhered to the detection face of the upper electrode 6, the ink droplets are absorbed into the inside of the upper electrode 6 by its capillarity, absorbed further by the connecting part 7, and then recovered by the ink recovery tube 8.
