Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the S/N with a circuit constitution requiring no adjustment, by interrupting a charrier chrominance signal transmission output for a prescribed time around the vertical blanking period. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal incoming to an input terminal 1 is applied to an LPF36 via a changeover switch 35, and a luminance signal is separated at the LPF36. This luminance signal is applied to a synchronizing signal separation circuit 37, where a composite synchronizing signal is separated. This composite signal is applied to a monostable multivibrator 38 and this is triggered at the front edge. A pulse picked up from the monostable multivibrator 38 triggers the monostable multivibrator 39 the time constant of which is selected largely at the rear edge. Thus, the output of the monostable multivibrator 39 is a pulse with high level for 1H or more before and after the vertical synchronizing pulse. The pulse picked up from the monostable multivibrator 39 is applied to a switch circuit 41 through a mixing circuit 40 to ground the output terminal of an equalizer circuit for the high level period in AC manner. Thus, noise component before and after the vertical synchronizing pulse is rejected.
