Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a transmission case which can be adopted in both F-F type and F-R type cars by forming both end openings of a transmission case in the same shape, to which a torque converter case is coupled. CONSTITUTION:A transmission case 6 is provided with openings 65, 65 same in shape disposed on a torque converter side (front side) end 6A and a rear side end 6B, the periphery of the these openings 65, 66 being provided with flange surfaces 67, 68 extended in the same shape. Tongue and groove flanges 69, 70 of substantially same size are axially extended from the flange surfaces 67, 68. In case of F-F type cars, a torque converter case 5 is attached to the front side 6A, and a rear cover 60 is fitted to the rear side 6B. On the contary, in case of F-R type cars, the torque converter case 5 is attached to the rear side 6B.
