Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform continuous reproductin smoothly by equipping a video disk reproducing device with two disk rotating mechanisms, and loading a disk on one rotating mechanism and driving it before the reproduction of the other disk ends. CONSTITUTION:A disk reproducing device consists of disk rotating mechanisms 1a and 1b, reading heads 3a and 3b, and a head carrier 4. These two heads are mounted on the single carrier and when one head reaches a final track position, the other head is at a playback starting position. Therefore, the reproduction of a disk 2a is started stably immediately after the reproduction of a disk 2b ends. The disk after the reproduction is stored in a storage rack by a disk selecting mechanism 6 and a next disk is taken out of the storage rack by the selecting mechanism at need and then set on the rotating mechanism.
