Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce mechanical sounds generated in pile driving work by applying a repulsion originated from an electromagnetic force generated in a coil to which an electric current is repeatedly supplied to a pile body. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic pile driver is made up of a pile body 1, e.g., concrete pile, etc., and an electromagnetic field generating mechanism 2 provided relatively to the pile body 1 in such a way as to apply a repulsion originated from electromagnetic force generated in coils 21 and 21' to the pile body 1. Both the coils 21 and 21' are connected with each other in series, for example, in such a way that rverse currents are mutually flowed repeatedly in both the coils 21 and 21', and a current generator 3 to generate repeated currents is connected to both the coils 21 and 21'. By this, reverse currents are repeatedly supplied to the coils 21 and 21' to generate a repulsion originated from an electromagnetic force between the coils 21 and 21' and thereby an impaction is applied to the coil 21 or the pile body 1 because the coil 21' is supported fixedly. Thus, the pile body 1 is driven into the ground.
