Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the continuous, automatic, and accurate display of a crack type image at a high reliability, by a method wherein, following extension of a crack in a sample, a type image of a rack corresponding to an original image of the crack is elongated for display. CONSTITUTION:An image signal of a sample 4, having a crack 3, is inputted at a range of a picture 3 from an ITV1, and after it is binary-coded (A), a crack signal is detected (B) to supply it to a crack end finder C, in case a crack signal at the end exceeding a given value is detected, a measuring allowable zone is elongated, and in case the crack signal being below a given value is detected, the measuring allowable zone is contracted. The detecting signals are supplied as a crack type image signal to an adding circuit R by a generator D. A binary code signal from a circuit A is inputted as a marker to an adding circuit R via a switch S1, and an addition output follows extension of a crack by means of a CRT37, and is displayed as an elongating picture of a crack type image corresponding to an original image of a crack.
