Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a water ink compsn. having a high-level writing property and a mildewproofing effect, prepared by adding sodium omadine to an aqueous solution of a water-soluble dye.
CONSTITUTION: Sodium omadine of the formula is added to a water ink compsn. pref. in 0.01W0.5wt%. When the content is less than 0.1%, the ink compsn. has no longer sufficient mildewproofing effect and when it exceeds 0.5wt%, the ink compsn. loses uniform solubility resulting in scratchy writing or unwritability. When the ink compsn. is to be filled in a writing instrument, the sodium omadine is added in an amount not to lower the writability and brings about a sufficient effect.
