Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a set quantity of friction irrespectively of the variance in blank material length by detecting and storing the contact position of the fayed end faces of two objects to be welded, and mechanically displacing the objects by the set quantity of friction with said position as a reference.
CONSTITUTION: Objects (a), (b) to be welded are mounted to a frictional pressure welding machine, and are displaced from a contact position up to a pressure welding end position by the rotation of spindles and the displacement of sliders. The mechanical displacement rates of the sliders of this time are detected with a displacement detector 1 and are inputted to a voltage amplifier 2, by which they are converted to a voltage signal E. The voltage Vp1 converted by the amplifier 2 is stored in a friction start point storage device 3, from which it is inputted to an adder 5. The adder 5 is inputted with the voltage value Vs corresponding to a required rate of displacement from a friction quantity setter 4, and outputs Vp1+Vs. A comparing amplifier 6 compares Vp1+Vs and the voltage El and when El≥Vp1+Vs, it closes contacts 10 by a relay 9 via a transistor 8, thereby indicating that the objects are at a friction end point P2, then the spindles stop rotating and further required pressure welding is accomplished.
