Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a continuous reinforced optical fiber cable without increasing its outer diameter, by setting a friction driving type extruding device at the area near the rear end of a supply pipe of Al or an Al alloy to extrude the Al or Al alloy around plural optical fiber cables and then drawing out the fibers and the Al or Al alloy at one time. CONSTITUTION:For an extruding device, a supply pipe 10 is formed by the groove face 7 of a driving wheel 6 and the inner wall face 9 of a fixed shoe block 8, an extruding room 12 is provided at the area near the rear end 11 of the pipe 10 to link up with the pipe 10, and a pipe extruding dice 13 is attached to the room 12. At the same time, a core material inserting hole 14 is provided for an optical fibrr cable 1 piercing through the block 8, and the hollow mandrels 15 and 15 are connected to the tip part of the hole 14. Then Al 17 is supplied to the pipe 10 and then sent further by the revolution of the wheel 6. Then an aluminum sheath 3 is extruded from the dice 13, and at the same time the cable is inserted. Both the sheath 3 and the cables 1 are drawn out at one time. In such way, an otical fiber cable 5 containing plural cables 1 coated with the sheath 3 can be obtained.
