Abstract
PURPOSE: To automate the washing operation of vegetables, e.g. a carrot, by sprinkling washing water over a recessed part for washing formed by brush rolls arranged in parallel.
CONSTITUTION: Vegetables, e.g. a carrot, supplied to the front end of a washing recessed part 6 on rotating brush rolls 5, 5, ... are transferred to the downward slanted rear end while rotated. In the process of the transfer, the vegetables, e.g. the carrot, are brushed by the brush rolls 5, 5, ..., and the stains, e.g. mud or sand, on the surface thereof, particularly the recessed part, are removed. The vegetables are washed clean with the washing water sprinkled from nozzles 9, 9 ....
