Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a heat resistant optical fiber cable, by connecting a cylindrical spacer having a semispherical head and suited to said head at another end, giving flexibility through the optical fiber inserted to the center hole and providing heat-resistant sheath. CONSTITUTION:A hole 13 is given to a semispherical head 11 of a cylindrical spacer 1 and a recess 12 of another end is fitted to the head 11. A lot of the cylindrical spacers 1 are connected and an optical fiber 2 is provided by passing through each hole 13. The cylinders 1 thus connected have flexibility and can be bent. Further, a sheath 3 is coated at the outer circumference of the spacers to obtain the cable. Thus, the heat-resistant optical fiber which can be used at high and very low temperatures is obtained, by constituting the optical fiber 2, the cylindrical spacers 1 and the sheath 3 with an inorganic material (MoSn, SnO2 and In2O3 or the like) with heat-resistant.
