Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an easy-to-observe spectral pattern by suppressing noise by averaging outputs of array type photodetectors between adjacent photodetectors, and then displaying averaged outputs by a decentralized spectroscope which uses the array type photodetectors. CONSTITUTION:Light from a white light source 1 is passed through an optical system 2 to illuminate a sample cell 3, transmitted or reflected light from which is guided to the incidence slit 6 of a spectroscope 5. The light incident to the spectroscope 5 is reflected by a reflecting mirror 7, diffracted by a diffraction grating 8, and reflected by a reflecting mirror 9 before being detected by picture elements of a linear image sensor 10. Scattered light that each picture element of the image sensor 10 receives is read by a reading circuit 11 and sensitivity correction is performed to obtain a light intensity signal, which is inputted to an averaging processing circuit 12. The circuit 12 performs weighted mean processing regarding several picture elements. The averaged signal is amplified by an amplifier 13 and then displayed on a cathode-ray tube through a processing part 14.
