Abstract

PURPOSE: Citric acid or its salt or additionally malic acid or its salt are added to an electrolyte solution containing calcium ion and phosphate ion to produce a stabilized electrolyte solution for supplying nutrients with no formation of calcium phosphate precipitate.
CONSTITUTION: Citric acid or its salt or additionally malic acid or its salt are added to an electrolyte solution containing both of calcium and phosphate ions or to at least one of the solution, when both ions are prepared separately as two solutions to stabilize the electrolyte solution. Since the addition of citric and/or malic acid develops an effect of inhibiting the precipitation of calcium phosphate, troubles caused by giving a high-acidity transfusion to a patient is avoided. The concentration of the components is 3.2W10mol/l in Ca ion 4W 10mol/l in phosphate ion, 0.05W0.5w/v% in citric acid and 0.2W1.0w/v% in malic acid.
