Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive a gas turbine at high thermal efficiency, by effecting heat exchange, in a heater, between working gas and other gas mixed with solid particles whose temperature has been heightened by an external burner, to heat the working gas to a prescribed temperature. CONSTITUTION:Secondary air boosted by a fan 13 is heated to 700-800 deg.C by a heat exchanger 14 and then goes into a combustion chamber 15. Solid particles separated from exhaust gas by a cyclone 16 and fuel 21 are supplied into the combustion chamber 15 so that the fuel is burned and the exhaust gas and the solid particles are heated to 900-1,100 deg.C. The resultant high-temperature gas mixed with the solids goes into a heater 8. The working gas of a gas turbine is heated to 650-750 deg.C by heat exchangers 10, 7 and then goes into the heater 8, in which heat exchange is effected between the working gas and the solid-mixed gas to heat the working gas to 850-950 deg.C. The heated working gas enters into a turbine drive section 9 to move the turbine to drive an electricity generator 20.
