Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare the titled composition having stable color and high discoloration resistance, and suitable especially for the food packaging use, without lowering the original characteristics of polyolefin, by compounding a specific triaryl phosphite to a polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin is compound with a symmetrical triaryl phosphite (eg. 0.3%) of formula(R1 is tertiary buty, 1,1-dimethylpropyl, cyclohexyl, or phenyl; one of R2 and R3 is H and the other is H, methyl, tertiary butyl, 1,1- dimethylpropyl, cyclohexyl, or phenyl). An additive effect can be attained by the addition of a hindered phenol antioxidant (e.g. 2,6-dialkylphenol) and/or hindered amine light stabilizer or weathering stabilizer (e.g. having a piperidine structure). The composition exhibits remarkable stabilizing effect when the radiation dose is <=10 Mrad.
