Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a remedy effective to various oculopathies such as asthenopia, lacrimation, etc. by using powder of SANYAKU (rhizoma of Dioscorea batatas), KUKOSHI (fruit of Lycium chinense), KIKKA (fruit of Citrus leiocarpa), KAKKON (root of Pueraria lobata), and RITAN or extract of the above powder with water or aqueous alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: Powder of SANYAKU, KUKOSHI, KIKKA, KAKKON, and RITAN or extract obtained by extracting the above powder with water or an aqueous alcohol (e.g. 30W40% methanol), is used as the objective remedy. The remedy contains 10pts.wt. of SANYAKU, 6W8pts. of KUKOSHI, 2.5W4.5pts. of KIKKA, 4W6pts. of KAKKON, and 0.4W0.7pts. of RITAN. It is effective to asthenopia, lacrimation, epiphora, retinitis, eyegrounds bleeding, pseudomyopia, primary catalact, etc., remarkably mitigating the stiffness of the shoulders and general fatigue, and free of side effects. It is applied in the form of an oral drug such as powder, tablet, pill, etc.
