Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect rotating angles with high resolving power by rotating a magnet plate and detecting the rotating angles from the change in the output of a magnetic angle detecting element during the time when the projecting parts or the like of the circumferential part pass near said element. CONSTITUTION:A magnet plate 15 is a discoidal plate magnetized in its axial direction, and is projected in one body with three asymmetrical projecting parts 18 of an approximately triangular shape at 120 deg. intervals on its outside circumferential surface 17. A magnetic angle detecting element 16 is formed of two MR stripes 20, 21 having a magnetoresistance effect such as iron-nickel thin films on an insulation substrate 19 in mutually orthogonal patterns. The output voltage V of the element 16 assumes an approximately triangular waveform corresponding to the shape of the parts 18 at every 120 deg. rotation of the plate 15. Since only the angles near the limited ones within 360 deg. in one revolution are locally detected with the projecting parts or the like partially formed on the circumferential surface of the magnet plate from the change in the output of the element 16, they are detected with high resolving power.
