Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain write bridged continuously over a plurality of tracks without ineffective data area and waiting for rotation, by giving a delay to the beginning point of an initializing data in tracks accessed continuously. CONSTITUTION:One of heads H0-H5 is selected with a head selecting circuit 4 of a controller 6 of a magnetic disc device 7 and a head number N and a constant delay time T are set to a programmable delay circuit 11. Then, initializing data for one track's share are written on both sides of discs 1a-1c forming each track after a delay of NXT from an index mark 9. Through this repetition, the beginning of the initializing data between adjacent tracks is written in with a delay l, allowing to make continuous write bridged over a plurality of tracks without waiting for rotation at each track changeover so that the entire recording area can be used as an effective data area.
