Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a crystalline silicate compound containing a lantanide rare earth element in the crystal lattice replacing a part of Si atoms, having a three- dimensional zeolite structure, and having an ion exchange capability and extremely high activity and thermal stability as a catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The titled crystalline silicate compound contaning the composition of formula and composed of a metal oxide complex of a lantanide rare earth element and Si, as an essential component. The M in the formula is preferably La, Ce, Pr, or Nd and especially La or Ce. The crystalline silicate compound can be prepared by reacting and crystallizing a mixture solution or suspension of an SiO2 source, an M2O3 source and inorganic alkali and/or a nitrogen-containing compound in water at 100W250°C. The compound acts as an effective catalyst for the conversion reaction of various organic compounds, exhibits high activity in the reaction converting methanol to hydrocarbons, and has a life sufficiently long as a practical catalyst.
