Abstract
PURPOSE:To aim at the miniaturization and cost reduction of a paper carrier by using as a paper carrier roller a double cylinder structure having an inner cylinder the inside of which is connected to a suction pump. CONSTITUTION:The leading end 8A of a paper 8 fed from a paper discharge port 1 is received by a paper carrier roller 10 where the paper 8 is sucked onto the surface of an outer cylinder 11 by the suction pump 14 through several holes 11A and slits 12A respectively formed in the peripheral surfaces of outer and inner cylinders 11, 12. At this stage, the leading end 8A of the paper 8 is partially wrapped and bent around the outer cylinder 11 so that the paper 8 is transferred since the outer cylinder 11 is rotated around the inner cylinder 12. When the leading end 8A of the paper 8 passes over the slits 12 of the inner cylinder 12, no suction force is applied to the leading end 8A, since the holes 11A of the outer cylinder 11 are covered with the inner cyliner 12, and therefore the leading end 8 comes off the peripheral surface of the outer cylinder 11 by the resilient force of the paper 8 itself, thereby the paper 8 is transferred to a tray 16.
