Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An anilide derivative of formulaI(X, Y are lower alkyl; R is 3W7C cycloalkyl, lower alkyl-substituted 3W7C cycloalkyl).
EXAMPLE: N-(2-Methylcyclohexyl)-N-(1-imidazolylcarbonyl)-2,6-dimethylaniline.
USE: Fungicide for agricultural and horticultural purpose: it show controlling effect against rice blast, rice sheath blight, rice helminthosporium leaf spot, tamato late blight, curumber downy mildew or cucumber powdery mildew. Further, it causes no chemical injury to crops and non-toxicity to mens, animals and fishes, thus being used safely.
PREPARATION: The reaction of a secondary amine of formula II with trichloromethyl chloroformate or phosgen in an inert solvent in the presence of a base give a carbamoyl intermediate of formula III. Then, the product is made to react with imidazole in an inert solvent in the presence of a base to give the compound of formulaI.
