Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent phase shift between an input optical data signal and an inserted optical data signal, by inserting an optical fiber as a delay line between a branching photocoupler and an insertion photocoupler. CONSTITUTION:An input data signal A is branched into two at a branching photocoupler 1; one is converted into an electric signal A'' via a photo-electric converter 2 and another is inputted to an insertion photocoupler 3 via an optical delay line 6. The electric signal A'' is synthesized with an input data signal B with an OR gate 4, the output passes through an electric delay line 7 and converted into an optical data signal D at an electric-photo converter 5. The optical data sigal D is synthesized at an optical data signal A' at the coupler 3 to be an output optical data signal C. In setting a delay time t2 of the line 6 to be equal to a delay time t1 of electric-photo and photo-electric conversion, no time shift is generated in a synthesized output optical data signal C in the coupler 3 is generated.
