Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to surely clamp a work piece by a method wherein each of jaws for clamping the work piece is held through a spring in the chucking mechanism for fixing as-cast parts or the like having dimensions with large dispersion on external form among one another. CONSTITUTION:Each of bolts 55 is pressed through a spring 53 by the spindle 50 of the chucking mechanism 100. Two guide bars 6 and 6 supported in a chuck main body 8 are moved through plates 7 by the actuation of hydraulic cylinders 9 so as to let the jaws 1 opposingly press the parts W to be chucked by means of wedges provided on clamp shafts 2 respectively. When four jaws 1 do not uniformly abut against the parts W to be chucked or when the parts W have dimensions with large dispersion on external form among one another, each jaw 1 independently abuts, resulting in enabling to properly chuck.
