Abstract

PURPOSE:To select double functions without increasing the number of keys, by providing a plurality of keys at the front of operating section of a console, and a function selecting panel removable and covering the operating section and a detecting switch which automatically switches the functions. CONSTITUTION:A console 1 for an industrial instrument consists of a display area providing display sections 2a and 2b on the front and an operating section provided with a number of keys 3. The operating section is provided with a function selecting panel 4 turnable with a hinge 5 and the selecting panel 4 can depress desired keys through a through-hole 6 corresponding to each key 3 at the usage stage covering the operating section. The console 1 is provided with a detection switch 7, and when the selecting panel 4 is selected at the usage position, an operating body 8 storing the switch 7 to the operating state is provided and the 1st function is selected. When the selecting panel 4 is located at open position of disuse, the operation section front of the console 1 is exposed and the 2nd function of each key 3 is automatically selected. The 1st and 2nd functions are displayed on displays 2a and 2b respectively on the display region.
