Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a cold-rolled mild steel plate of superior deep drawability by decreasing the contents of Al, N in aluminum killed steel, adding Ti and subjecting said steel to rolling and heat treatment under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:An ingot of the aluminum killed steel contg. 0.02-0.08% C, <0.03% Si, <0.40% Mn, <0.050% SolAl, and 0.0020% N, and contg. Ti in such a way that the value of Ti/N attains >=3 is first hot-rolled, then it is finish- rolled at a temp. higher than the Ar3 transformation point. This is coiled at <=700 deg.C, and is further cold-rolled, whereby the steel plate of intended thickness is obtained. This is heated up to a temp. higher than the recrystallization temp. and a temp. lower than the Ar3 transformation point by a continuous annealing system and is maintained at these temps. for 20-120sec to cause recrystallization and grain growth to make mild, whereby formability is improved. Thence, it is reduced of temp. down to 250-450 deg.C overaging temps., and is held at these temps. for 1-10min, whereby the solid soln. carbon which is the cause for generation of aging is reduced.
