Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:An aniline derivative shown by the formula I [R1 is H, or lower alkyl; R2 and R3 are acetyl, cyano, amide, etc.(with the proviso that both acetyls are omitted); R4 and R5 are H, formyl, alkanoyl, etc.(with the proviso that both Hs are omitted)].
EXAMPLE: 1-(4-Acetylaminobenzoyl)ethylmalonic acid diethyl ester.
USE: An intermediate for drugs and agricultural chemicals.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with a compound shown by the formula III, to give a compound shown by the formula I. 4-Acetoamino-α-bromopropiophenone, etc. may be cited as the compound shown by the formula II, and malonic acid dimethyl ester, etc. as the compound shown by the formula III. The reaction is carried out in methanol in the presence of Ri, Na, etc. and its alcoholate. A compound shown by the formula IV is obtained from the compound shown by the formula I.
