Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow a proper idle operation condition to be maintained in an engine to reduce pumping loss during its idle operation, by decreasing the reducing quantity when the idle RPM is reducing and increasing it when idle RPM is increasing. CONSTITUTION:When the idle RPM is kept in the predetermined value or more, pumping loss decreasing function will be actuated by open and close of the intake reflux valve 11. If the number of revolution is reduced to less than the predetermined value under this condition, the RPM signal inputted through the gate 16 to the comparator 18 drops below the set voltage, and the actuator 20 operates in accordance with the output signal passing through the integral circuit 19, and the opening of the open-close valve 12 installed in the suction air reflux passage 10 is reduced. Thus, the reflux of the intake mixture in compression stroke is restricted and the quantity of pumping loss decreases. And if the RPM exceeds the set value, the open-close valve 12 will be opened. In cases other than idling, the RPM detection signal will be shut off at the gate 16.
