Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion of a heat exchanging pipe of the heat exchanger in which the sea water is used as a coolant by forming a hydrotalcite film on a coolant passing surface of the heat exchanging pipe of aluminum-brass and coating a corrosion proofing paint thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The sea water is made to flow for a certain period of time through the heat exchanging pipe of aluminum-brass to form a hydrotalcite [Mg6Al2Co3 (OH)104H2O] film on the inner surface of the pipe. Then the corrosion proofing paint is coated on thus formed film. Thus, the adherence of the corrosion proofing paint is improved and the corrosion due to the sea water can be prevented by the synergistic effect with the corrosion proofing effect of the film itself.
