Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a strainer free from clogging, by forming plural slits, of which widths increase gradually toward the downstream side of main flow, in the direction perpendicular to the main flow, and making screens at both the sides of slit higher toward the center, at a branched part of water path.
CONSTITUTION: A strainer 2 is provided to a branched part between a main pipe and a branch pipe 6. The strainer 2 has plural slits 4 on the upper surface of a housing 3 in the direction perpendicular to the main flow S1, and each slit has screens 5 at both sides. The slits 4 are formed to increase its width gradually toward the downstream of the main flow S1, and the screens 5 are formed into a bevel cross-sectional shape increasing its height gradually toward the center from both the ends. Thus, branched flow S2 is extremely reduced by the strainer 2 when floating matters tend to enter the branch pipe 6, and the matters are picked up by the screens 5 and stopped to enter because of weak sucking force of the branched flow S2. Further, even when the matters are flowed into the slit 4, they are not caught by the slit 4 because of the gradual increase of the slit width toward the downstream.
