Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the weight load on a roof on which a part of the water heater is installed and to eliminate the possibility of contamination and frosting of water by a method wherein the solar energy is collected through a heat pipe and thus collected energy is transmitted indirectly to pooled water.
CONSTITUTION: The heat pipe 1 is provided through the roof. A heat receiving part 1a at the upper end of the heat pipe 1 collect heat through a light collector 2. Due to such a heat collection, a working liquid is gasified, whereas a heat discharge part 1b of the heat pipe 1 dipped in the pooled water discharge latent heat of evaporation to reliquidize and heat the working liquid. The heat pipe 1, when an outdoor temperature sensor 4 detects out such a temperature as can rise the water temperature, descends to enter its heat discharge part 1b. Otherwise, the heat pipe 1 ascends to prevent a reversed flow of the heat. With this construction, the load on the roof is only the weight of the light collector. Further, the heating system employed here is indirect type and therefore no comtamination by water will possibly occurs.
